How do I set up Telegram notifications?

What the Telegram integration gives you

The agenola bot is added to your team's Telegram group or to your private chat. New support requests and other alerts arrive in that chat. Telegram steps in your flows can also send messages to linked chats.

The bot only sees commands addressed to it; it doesn't read the group's conversation. You don't copy any token or key.

Today the Telegram integration is for team notifications. For messaging with customers you can use WhatsApp or Twilio SMS.

Adding a chat step by step

The Owner or an Admin can do this.

1. On Integrations → Telegram, press “Add chat” on the “Team notifications” card.
2. Open “Add to group” to add the bot to a group, or “Add to my chat” to get notifications yourself. Telegram opens.
3. In Telegram, pick the group and add the bot, or start the chat with the bot.
4. The panel shows “Chat linked.” and the chat is listed with a “Group” or “Private chat” label.

If the link expires (“The link has expired. Start again.”), press “Add chat” again.

Which notification goes where

Linking a chat doesn't decide on its own which notifications go there. You choose that on Account → “Alerts and notifications”; the link on the Telegram page takes you there.

Telegram actions in flows

Flow step actions for linked chats include “Send message”, “Send photo”, “Send document”, “Edit message”, “Pin message” and actions that read chat details. “Delete message” and “Leave chat” can't be undone and need the confirmation checkbox on the step.

Problems and removing

• If a chat shows “Bot removed”, the bot was removed from that chat and notifications aren't delivered. Use “Add chat” to add it back.
• To remove a chat, press “Remove” next to it. Notifications and flow steps sent to that chat stop; if no other workspace uses the chat, the bot leaves the group.
