How do I connect analytics and ad platforms?

Send what happens in the conversation (conversation started, contact details left, appointment booked…) as events to your analytics and ad platforms.

How it works

These four platforms are used in two steps: first you connect them on the Integrations page, then you turn them on for each flow in its “Measurement settings” tab. You choose per flow which events go to which platform; you build reports and ad targeting in the platform itself.

Connecting requires the Owner or Admin role.

Connecting the platforms

  • Google Analytics: press “Connect Google Analytics” and grant access with your Google account. The connected account needs the Editor role on the property. The first time an event is sent to a data stream, Google's user data acknowledgement is given on your behalf.
  • Google Ads: press “Connect Google Ads” and grant access. Only conversion actions you created in Google Ads as “Import → From clicks” appear in the list (Goals → Conversions → New conversion action).
  • Meta Pixel: press “Connect to Meta”; in Meta's window choose your business and the pixels agenola will use, then approve. Don't turn off any permission in the window: if one is turned off, Meta grants none and the connection isn't made. To use a pixel you add later, connect again and select it too.
  • TikTok: press “Connect to TikTok”; on TikTok's page choose the ad accounts agenola will use, approve the permissions and enter the verification code sent to your ad account's email. To use an ad account you add later, connect again and select it too.

Turning them on in a flow

  1. In the flow editor, open the “Measurement settings” tab.
  2. Under “Platforms”, turn on the platform you want (for example “Google Analytics on”). A platform that isn't connected shows a “Connect” button.
  3. For Google Analytics, choose the data stream events go to; for Google Ads, the ad account; for Meta Pixel, the pixel; for TikTok, the ad account and pixel.
  4. In the “Events” table, tick the events to send for each platform: “Conversation started”, “Contact details left”, “Flow completed”, “Ticket created”, “Appointment booked”, “Product searched”. In Google Ads, pick a conversion action for each event or leave it on “Don't send”.
  5. Use “Edit event names” if you want names other than the platform's standard events.

For step events, define an event in a step's “Tracking” tab (for example “Product viewed”, “Purchase” or your own name), then choose its platforms under “Step events”.

For details, see Measurement settings.

Privacy

  • The visitor's email and phone number reach Meta, TikTok and Google Ads only as an irreversible hash; the plain address is never sent.
  • The visitor ID is an anonymous value derived from the session.
  • In Google Ads a conversion is matched by the ad click if the visitor came from your ad, otherwise by the email or phone they left; if there is neither, it isn't sent.
  • Informing your visitors and obtaining the required consent is your responsibility.

Flow actions and disconnecting

Google Analytics flow actions: sending events, creating and finding key events, getting reports and realtime reports. Google Ads: sending conversions, getting campaigns and reports, changing campaign status, managing customer lists and adding or removing contacts. “Change campaign status” and “Delete customer list” need confirmation on the step.

When you remove a connection, the events and steps in your flows stop working; your reports and ad account on the platform stay as they are.
