How do I connect Slack and Microsoft Teams?
Let your team hear about new requests in Slack or Teams, and let your flows send messages there.
What it gives you
Slack and Microsoft Teams do two jobs: they carry system notifications to your team's channel, and they add Slack or Teams steps to your flows. The message includes the flow, reason and contact details, and the link goes to the relevant panel screen. If a notification can't be sent, the handoff or request is not lost.
Which notification goes to which channel is chosen not on the connection page but on Account → “Alerts and notifications”.
Connecting Slack
- On Integrations → Slack, press “Add to Slack”.
- Choose your workspace in Slack and allow access. The agenola app is added to your Slack workspace.
- Back in agenola, pick the channels for notifications on the “Alerts and notifications” page.
Flow actions: sending, updating and deleting messages, searching messages; creating channels, inviting, setting the topic and purpose, archiving; uploading files; reactions; users and user groups. “Archive channel”, “Remove from channel” and “Delete message” need confirmation on the step. Slack steps run with the app's permissions.
Connecting Microsoft Teams
Some permissions need your company administrator's consent, so a Microsoft 365 administrator connects Teams.
- On Integrations → Microsoft Teams, press “Connect Microsoft Teams”.
- Sign in as a Microsoft 365 administrator and consent on behalf of your organization.
- Pick the notification channels on the “Alerts and notifications” page.
If you're not an administrator, use “Copy” in the “Not an administrator?” section to copy the consent link and send it to your administrator. Once they consent, you can connect with “Connect Microsoft Teams” too.
Notifications and Teams steps are sent in the name of the person who connected. Flow actions: creating, getting, updating and deleting channels; sending channel and chat messages, getting messages, replying; creating, getting, updating and deleting tasks.
Disconnecting
Press “Disconnect”. Notifications and flow steps stop. For Slack, the agenola app is removed from your workspace too. For Teams, your company's consent can be removed under Enterprise applications in Microsoft Entra.
If the connection says it can't be read or used, remove it and connect again.
